Items needed for this Owl Wreath:
Step One: Prep your wreath
First, cut 5 pieces of wire about 5 inches long to have them on hand.
Next, Play around with the layout of the dried leaves until you decide where you like them. The dried leaves are not very flexible so don’t be afraid to break them into place.
After laying them out, tie them down with wire and a few drops of hot glue
Step Two: Add floral and leaf picks
Separate the leaves and flowers. Use your wire cutters to cut the stems off.
Layout where you want the different colors on the wreath then hot glue to the stem and push them into the wreath for extra support.
I decided to leave the bottom of the wreath for last since I initially wasn’t sure if I wanted my bow to be at the bottom or on the left with the flowers.
Tip: Be sure to glue the flowers and leaves on the outer and inner sides of the wreath to make it look fuller.
Step Three: Create a bow
To create a simple bow begin with one loop around your thumb to make the center of the bow.
Then create “S” loops underneath each other creating 5 or more loops on each side of the center loop. Don’t worry about the pattern being upside down you will fix this later.
Attach the end of the ribbon to your other loops creating a long tail . Tie all of the loops together with a piece of wire.
Cut the long loop in half to create the two tails.
Fluff your bow by opening all the loops and flipping them pattern side up, be sure to move around your loops so they sit next to each other creating a perfect round bow.
As I mentioned before you can have the bow and owl at the bottom or on the left side as i have done.
Tie your bow to the wreath and hot glue your owl into place.
Don’t forget to finish off the center of the wreath with more flowers and leaves. I decided to pull the flowers off the stem and glue them down
I am in love with this owl wreath and the polka-dot bow, I think this would look great in or outdoors!
