Farmhouse style is one of the most popular styles. This “Home” sign is perfect for that warm cozy farmhouse home feel.
First, cut the string and tag off of all the signs
Use your ruler to make sure the bottom edges line up.
Apply hot glue to your large popsicle sticks and place 3 sticks over each seam. Apply hot glue along the seams for extra support.
To create a hanger, cut a large piece of rope and fold it in half. Glue it down with half a stick on each end.
Tip: Use command strips to support this sign. The letters make it very heavy
Flip your signs over to the back and paint it white. I had to apply 2-3 coats of paint.
For your letters, paint all of the edges first! This will make it easier to hold while you get into all of the corners.
Once the edges are dry paint the face of the letters. I applied two layers of paint on these as well
Since these letters make the sign very heavy I applied hot glue and E6000 glue to be sure it would stay in place.
Make sure you apply a few drops of both types of glue to the entire letter
Flip your letters over and press down firmly. Make sure they align along the bottom.
Once I had the letters on I realized that I wanted a little more detail.
Tip: I recommend doing this before gluing down the letters.
Use your sharpie marker and ruler to make lines on the sign mimicking a wood grain. Then use your sanding block to soften the lines.
Glue down your leaves first. Make sure they are the same distance from the end on both sides.
Cut 6 floral stems. Glue your first flower where the sign with the “O” starts. Then glue the next 2 flower stems closer to the center. Each one overlapping the previous just a little.
Repeat this on the right side with your last 3 flowers. Your first flower should start where the “M” sign ends.
First, Cut 3 pieces of ribbon. Fold the first piece about the same size as the space between the floral picks.
Fold the second piece so that it is 1 inch smaller from both ends of the first ribbon. Place the 3rd piece of ribbon behind your two folded pieces.
Press down in the center and pinch the sides. This creates a bow tie center.
Use a piece of twine to tie them all together. Lastly, Glue your bow down and cut the tails.
