This Farmhouse Lantern is everyone’s favorite piece in my home! I’m going to show you how I made this super easy farmhouse lantern and all the supplies come from Dollar Tree!
Apply Glue along the inner edge of the frame and insert the glass. Do this for all 4 frames
Glue all four frames together using hot glue
Apply 2 coats of paint to the entire lantern on the inside and out. Apply a third coat of paint if you don’t like this texture from the brush strokes.
Set this to the side and allow it to dry.
Use your sanding block to remove all of the glitter from the square wooden sign
Glue your sign onto your canvas then, glue the wooden block to the sign
Next, Apply 3-4 coats of white paint to the entire top and allow it to fully dry.
Using a thick rope, create two loops about the same width as the wooden block.
Cut the rope and glue it down the woodblock.
With the balsa sticks, measure and cut them to fit the frames diagonally.
I decided to have “x” on the front and back and just one “/” diagonal stick on the two sides (alternate angles)
Once cut, paint both sides of your sticks.
Tip: if you prefer to have “x” on all sides, buy 4 wood sticks.
Place your lantern over the edge of the foam board. Make sure the edge is square with two sides of your lantern.
With a pen trace the other two sides and cut it out with a metal ruler and exacto knife.
Apply a small amount of super glue to your sticks and place them in place.
Add pieces of tape to keep the corners down while it dries.
